Website analytics and cookies

Analytics is off until you choose “Accept analytics”. You can reject it and continue using the site normally, or change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

What we measure

When you consent, our first-party analytics records page and article views, active visible reading time, coarse scroll-depth bands, calls-to-action, newsletter form submissions, campaign tags, and the referring website hostname. We classify traffic into broad channels such as direct, search, social, email, paid campaign, internal, or referral.

Country reporting is coarse and is enabled only when our trusted edge can supply an ISO country code. We do not request browser location, store latitude or longitude, or retain your raw IP address in analytics data.

How the data is protected

Your browser creates a random session value only after consent. The receiving service immediately converts it into a keyed, day-specific hash before storage. Reports contain aggregates; small country and traffic-source groups are combined into “Other”. Raw session values, IP addresses, user-agent strings, email addresses, account IDs, venue IDs, and Wi-Fi device identifiers are not stored in this analytics system.

Storage and retention

Your choice

Rejecting analytics does not restrict the website, free-account registration, Insights articles, or mailing-list subscription. Do Not Track is honoured as a rejection. To withdraw or change consent, use “Cookie settings” in any page footer.
